Mobile Deposit Frequently Asked Questions

What is Mobile Deposit?
Mobile Deposit allows you to take a picture of a check and deposit it into your account via our Mobile Banking iPhone or Android app. This eliminates the need for a trip to the bank and the use of a deposit ticket.

How do I access Mobile Deposit?
Launch our HHSB mobile app and tap Deposit Checks. The first time you access Mobile Deposit, you will be prompted to enroll your bank account.

What account types are eligible for Mobile Deposit?
You may deposit checks via Mobile Deposit into any enrolled checking accounts.

Can I enroll more than one account?
Yes. Currently, you cannot split a check between 2 accounts via Mobile Deposit. Please deposit the entire check into 1 account and then transfer money via the mobile app to the other account.

Are there limits to the number of items and the dollar amount of items I can deposit?
Yes, there is a limit of 2 items per business day; one check equals one item. New Mobile Deposit customers will have a per day limit of $1,000. Once you are an established Mobile Deposit customer, the per day limit and number of items may increase. There is also a rolling 30 day limit.

What items can be deposited?
Checks made payable to the account owner or joint owners, that have been properly endorsed by all payees and has “For Mobile Deposit Only” written below the signature(s).

What items cannot be deposited?
No Foreign checks, No 3rd Party checks, No Bonds, No returned or re-deposited items, No Rebate checks, & No Postal Money Orders

What is the deposit cutoff time?
If you make a deposit before 5:00 pm EST on a Business Day that we are open we will consider that day to be the day of your deposit. However, if you make a deposit after 5:00 pm EST or on a day that we are not open, we will consider the deposit made on the next Business Day we are open.

How should I endorse a check deposited via Mobile Deposit?
Please legibly sign the back of the check and print ”For Mobile Deposit Only To HHSB”.

Do messaging and data rates apply?
Message and data rates may apply. Please check with your communication service provider for access rates, texting charges, and other applicable fees.

What should I do with a check after it has been deposited via Mobile Deposit?
Please retain the check for 30 days after you receive credit for the deposit. After that time, please destroy the check, preferably by shredding.
